  • Dr.
    J. K. Kuan DC, LAc
    Clinical Director of Prosperity Health Center

    KDr. Kuan graduated with honors from Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) with a Doctor’s degree in Chiropractic and a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. There he received the Outstanding Service Award for his individual contributions to the college, made the Dean’s List, and was recognized by the California State Assembly for his steadfast commitment to the community and outstanding leadership in Traditional Asian Medicine and Health Sciences.

    Dr. Kuan began his Acupuncture and Chiropractic career in San Diego and Santa Monica, California where he was working with a seasoned Chiropractor. From there he brought together many of the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern Acupuncture and Chiropractic techniques for excellent healing and wellness. Since then, he has continued to build his reputation as a practitioner who is passionate about healing and providing care to those that find themselves in physical distress. After years of practice in California, Dr. Kuan pursued the opportunity to bring his clinical experience and healing techniques to the East Coast where he founded Prosperity Health Center. 

    Dr. J. K. Kuan is National Board Certified (NCCAOM) (NBCE) and a Licensed Chiropractic Physician and Acupuncturist in the State of New Jersey, New York and California. Currently he is also teaching at Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine. With years of clinical experience, Dr. Kuan has helped many people with varied conditions such as insomnia, food allergy, seasonal allergy, hypertension, migraine/headache, smoking addiction, obesity, PMS, dysmenorrhea/amenorrhea, infertility, pain syndrome (joint pain, tendonitis, LBP), I.B.S., anxiety/depression to name but a few. 

    After serving to various local cities, Dr. Kuan is now offering his service to the world through hosting world-wide healing retreats. 

    At CHY, Dr. offers Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Core Fusion and Prana Fusion classes. 

  • Dr. Nancie Celini
    Yoga Instructor

    Dr. Nancie Celini is an educator,
    researcher, 500-hour certified yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance and yoga therapist. Her extensive background as a clinical research and public
    health professional combined with her unique insights have helped people transform their health.  She has been inspired in her own practice by scientists, medical professionals and master teachers in healthcare and yoga but is most inspired by her students and seeing
    them grow, heal and feel better. 

    She is the founder of Just Breathe Yoga, a community-based program in NJ and developer of “Yoga for Change” a program to help professionals reimagine their work and connectedness to each other. Nancie has been a lifelong athlete and advocate for better health as a certified fitness trainer, martial artist and yoga teacher. She is co-developer of a unique continuing education program with her colleague in New York where they help yoga teachers cultivate new insights and skills across a wide range of topics. Nancie has a master’s degree and doctorate in public health. She brings a diverse knowledge base to help her students grow stronger and healthier through yoga combined with her passion for research and integrative medicine.

  • Carmela Ruggerio
    Yoga Intructor

    Carmela M. Ruggiero recently received her 200 hour yoga certification and Reiki level I certification in June of 2018. Carmela has always had a passion for health and well-being. Yoga and meditation found her when she was about 15 years old and her life has been changed ever since. She wishes to continue and advance her studies and is hopeful to obtain her 500 hour yoga certification in 2019. Carmela also loves to dance, meditate, cook (really good) vegan food, and spend time with her family, friends, and cat.

  • Susan Lewis
    Yoga Instructor

    Sue Lewis is a 225 hour certified yoga instructor, licensed massage therapist, and Usui Reiki Master.  She has also been trained in trauma-informed yoga, chair/senior yoga, yoga nidra, and yin yoga.  Sue is currently enrolled in a 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training, as well as training with Curvy Yoga. Sue believes that yoga is for everyone, and strives to bring a welcoming and  inclusive atmosphere to her classes, filled with joy and gentle fun. Sue loves living in the beach town of Ocean Grove with husband Ken and cocker spaniel Domino. She practices the Japanese martial arts of Aikido and Battodo in her spare time.

  • Rachel Bruncati

    Rachel has been a
    yoga enthusiast since 2013, where she began with online tutorials and community
    classes.  She did not realize the impact it had on her self care and
    journey to a happier life both mentally and physically.  After becoming a
    certified teacher through Ramapo College of New Jersey as well as completing
    her bachelors in psychology, Rachel threw herself into teaching.  Having
    the privilege to learn from students, she have had the opportunity to work with
    an extremely diverse clientele of all ages, shapes, and circumstances. 
    Within these past two years, yoga has given Rahcel the confidence and strength
    to continue her education, as she is currently enrolled in a graduate program
    at Kean University for Marriage and Family Therapy.  While she continues
    to pursue a career using methods of holistic treatment in a therapeutic manor,
    Rachel wants to create a safe and light hearted environment adjusted to the
    needs of the student. She invites you to have fun as you explore the practice,
    your mind, and body.

  • Julianne Riceputo
    Yoga Instructor

    Julianne is a spiritual, trauma-conscious 200hr RYT Yoga Alliance Teacher who found balance,
    grounding, a safe sanctuary within herself with her daily practice. “We are all teachers and We are all students, Yoga allows us to become “unstuck” it allows
    us to slow down and as we slow down we purify, we unify our mind, body and soul.  The Teacher and light in me honors the teacher and light in all of
    you.'  Julianne is in the process of becoming 500hr. RYT 

  • Kaitlin Perseghin

    Kaitlin has been practicing yoga for over 10 years as a means of fitness but it wasn’t until about 5 years ago that she fell in love with the mind-body connection. Eager to learn and deepen her practice, Kaitlin completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Tula Yoga in Aberdeen and is enrolled to become a 500 hour certified instructor this fall. Being a mom of three young children, Kaitlin knows well the importance of taking time for yourself and believes it is essential to leading a balanced life. Her classes combine breath and movement for a fun, yet challenging experience. She encourages her students to embrace where they are on their yoga journey and find their own personal edge. Kaitlin hopes you will leave her classes feeling refreshed, centered and energized. “Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame.” B.K.S.     Steven is a E-RYT (Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher) with over 3,000 logged class teaching hours. These hours do not include Private sessions, Acro Yoga sessions, Workshops, Festivals, or Community classes. 

    Having his certification has given him the opportunity to pass on his passion of yoga to all  levels of students.

    The 'Mind, Body, Spirit' practice has irrevocably changed his life for the better and his ultimate goal is to inspire people to better their lives through the teachings of yoga.

    Ava is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher who has a passion for all things health and fitness.  She is starting at Boston College in the fall to study business and continue teaching yoga.  She rides horses, was the captain of her volleyball team, loves weight training, and has been practicing yoga for nearly a decade.
